Rules

  • The Pennyliggit Gate is the only means of entering and exiting the kart track.All gates, i.e. Pennyliggit and then internal farming gates, are to be kept closed at all times.
  • A 10 MPH speed limit is to be maintained at all times and extra care should always be taken if farm animals are present.
  • Keys are issued to members on trust. Members should never pass a key to a non-member. Anyone using a key must be a member and be aware of the rules of the club.
  • No one is allowed on the track except pushers and officials-vigilance is required at all times to other track users.
  • No vehicles are allowed on the track except karts, mini motos or any other accepted entrant, unless otherwise approved. The term “kart” from now on covers all forms of accepted entrants.
  • The track and pits are to be kept clean and tidy at all times. No litter or waste is to be left behind.
  • All karts must enter the track from the left, looking from the pits and leave on the right again looking from the pits, at the designated entrance and exit. No karts should enter the pits from the dummy grid.
  • All drivers must wear full faced helmets, gloves, race boots and cuffed race suit at all times.
  • All drivers and parents/guardians are liable for the safety aspects of their own karts. On race days a scrutineer will be in attendance.
  • Young children must be supervised at all times. Dogs must be kept on a leash at all times.
  • Drivers must be wait on the dummy grid until the track is clear and it is safe to enter the track.
  • Track time on non race days is divided as follows:
    » Cadets first 15 minutes of each hour
    » Juniors second 15 minutes of each hour
    » Seniors third 15 minutes of each hour
    » Gearbox last 15 minutes of each hour
  • Seniors and juniors are not to be on the track at the same time. Drivers can use the track if no other driving group is present.
  • Drivers should raise their right hand on exiting the track to signal their intentions to other drivers. Once off the track, engines should be cut and karts cleared from the exit area as soon as possible. No karts are to be driven through the pits.
  • If karts spin off or break down drivers should put both their hands in the air to warn other drivers. Only when safe to do so should drivers clear their kart from the track and into the central area.
  • All flags displayed by marshals must be strictly adhered to.
  • All drivers using the track should make themselves familiar with all flags. (Training is available).
  • All drivers using the track for practice must be accompanied by a competent adult at all times.
